a run, yes with kids!

Today I got the double stroller ready and we went on a run. This jogger is amazing and sure has had a life. I wish these strollers came with mile trackers, so we could tell how many miles we have put on it. Either way, it has had quite the life. My kids are getting a little big for it. They both weigh about 45 pounds and the stroller weighs about 20! I love it though.
I love almost everything about it, I just wish people driving would watch out for us. I notice so many people don't even see us, I make eye contact normally because it makes them see me at an intersection. I don't feel like this is too much to ask, just watch out for pedestrians!  Even with my awareness, we always almost get hit about three different times a run, enough to scare me not to take them again....this is sad, they love it, and I am a better person for it, and a much better mom.
This is why I don't run with an ipod or music, EVER!!! (not even when i am alone, or on marathons)
I just need to be aware of my surroundings because  other people aren't aware of me, or my kids.
Sad.....be careful, especially if you are on foot, or wheels.

It's been foreeevvveeerrrr!

Summer has hit us!!!(like hard)
My attempts at an easy summer has not really gone as planned....we sent my sister on a mission in June. We did a lot of "lasts" with her. She is doing great and loving every minute! We miss her but she is doing so great, that we can't be sad for too long. She is a fabulous writer, she writes us every week, and has a strong testimony of the gospel, and the truth of it all. We are so proud of her.
back to busy supposed to be easy going summer.....
a lot of swimming (it is a hot one)
a lot of mowing lawns and weeding!!!! helping out great grandma pete, and talking with her, she is 95, and my kids just love her!
we have done a few hikes, and we are loving the outdoors
hailey and i walked to church, and home (2 miles)
i rode on the back of mikes motorcycle (this is huge for me)
a lot of parties with really good food
a lot of family time
a lot of exercising to counter all the good food ( wow!!!)
we have been to yellowstone, and saw three different sets of bears!!! the kids loved this vacation. we saw more bears this trip of 4 days than we did the whole summer we lived up there! the kids were like "oh, it must be a grizzly" what? that never happens! we did not see a wolf or a moose though, but we had a great time. we celebrated our 10 year anniversary where we celebrated our first, it was a really neat experience. this trip was a last minute trip, so we got to stay in the same dorm where we had lived that summer. it was nice to have our kids there, and show them around.
we have been doing summer packets, reading, writing, and practicing with Ryker, well, everything.
we have been to the gym, and trying out there new classes, well, new to me
we have ran thru the sprinklers
bike rides (a no training wheel family)
we have hung out with cousins
we have had survivor night, and i let hailey spend the night without me, big step for me
we have done a lot of things with friends
splash pad

we have went to arcades and had fun racing
we have been to mikes moms house and got to see other cousins
we went boating and tubing
mike took ryker on a father son outing...another big step for me (this is becoming a pattern)
summer mornings at the movies

up next:
maybe a reunion for mikes family
baseball games, professional, and church ones
helping friends, good friends move....sad
looking for a VAN, ya, i said it.....big steps, right?

i'm sure more swimming
there better be more exercising, i have felt a little off lately, i need to regroup.
more family time
more hikes
hopefully more lake time, i really enjoyed that
more reading with my kids and going over math
more yard work

I love summer and everything that comes with it! I just hope smiles, laughter, and love come with it too. I am so grateful that we get to do this with each other, and that I get to stay home with them.

Sorry it is so long, I just haven't wrote in awhile. I need to remember the fun things that we have done, as a family.

To mike:
I can't believe it's been ten years! We have a great family, and you are such a provider. Thank you for letting me stay home, and raise our kids. Thanks for going to work everyday, and working more when you come home. I love you so much, and I am so thrilled that we are sealed as a family forever.
love-
me
